You can use Domain Verification to verify your website and take control of your business’s presence on Facebook.
When you complete the process, Facebook will be able to identify that you're an authorized representative for the domain and will be able to link your Business Manager account to your website.
What Does Domain Verification Do?
Once you confirm domain ownership, you will have more control over the assets in your business manager as well as other important features associated with your online presence.
When you're done verifying, your Facebook will periodically ask you to confirm that you are the owner of the verified domain.
Typically, as an ad manager, this occurs when uploading your ad creative. Meta will ask you to confirm that you own the domain so that they can use your Meta pixel to track your Facebook ad results.
Having domain verification will also help with your Facebook Page, protect from malicious actors, as well as help grant third-party apps access to your Pages and Ads.
How Do I Verify My Domain On Facebook?
Verifying your domain within the business manager is easy to do.
1. Log into your Facebook Business Manager account, then go to the “Business Settings” page.

2. Select “Domains” from the left side menu under brand safety.

3. If you are the domain host for the selected domain choose, "Create a new domain" to add the domain that you control to the business manager.

4. Input your domain name and click “Add”.

5. Choose from one of the verification methods available (meta-tag, HTML file upload to your website's root directory, update to the DNS TXT record.)

6. Follow the instructions to complete the verification process.
Once you've verified your domain, you can start setting up your Pages and Ads with it, as well as connecting third-party apps.
3 Ways To Verify Your Facebook Domain
In step 5 we mentioned 3 ways to verify your domain.
Below is a quick walkthrough for each of those options.
Meta-Tag File Upload
One of the fastest and easiest ways to verify your domain is by copying and pasting the meta tag verification code from the meta tag verification tab.
Copy and paste the meta-tag verification code provided by Facebook between your <head> and </head> tags.

Once you have pasted the meta-tag, hit the green verify domain button.
This method for verifying your domain is easiest for those with little technical or coding experience.
If you are using Shopify you can paste this code in the correct spot by going to Online store -> Themes -> Edit Code -> themes.liquid and pasting before the closing </head> tag.
Upload An HTML File To Your Root Directory
If you're using a content management system (CMS) like WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal, the HTML file upload method is the perfect option for users who are running their websites on a content management system.
Select the HTML file upload tab from the drop-down. This method requires you to download the HTML verification file from Facebook and then upload it into the root directory of your website.

Once you've downloaded the file you will upload it to your root directory and hit the green verify domain button.
Facebook will then scan for the file and verify your domain over the next 72 hours.
DNS TXT Record
The last method to verify your domain is on the DNS verification tab, which is the third option in the drop-down.
The DNS verification method requires access to your domain's web servers for your website.

Once you have access to the DNS system, you will be able to create and insert a new DNS TXT record with your Facebook verification code. If you don't know how to set up a DNS TXT record, consult your domain name provider or website hosting provider for help.
After you've added the DNS TXT record, go back into Business Manager and click Verify. You should see a success message when the process is complete
Facebook Domain Verification
Once you have verified your domain you can now run ads using the Meta pixel to track your ad results.
You will be more protected from malicious and unauthorized clicks.
You will also control which third-party apps and services have access to your Facebook Pages and Ads, as well as help ensure the security of your data.
